History

J&S Water Wells was established in 1949 by Ray Stevens and Charles Johnson. From its beginnings, the company concentrated on domestic water well supply in the Bellville, TX area and its surroundings. In 1979, John E. Richardson purchased the company and since then, it has grown steadily over the last 30 plus years. In June, 2019, the company was purchased by Monte Richardson.   During the late 1970’s, the company’s focus grew to include Water Supply and pump rental for the booming Texas oil fields. Turnkey well packages were introduced as a cost effective means for producing water for oil and gas drilling needs. Efficient methods were employed by the use of Simco all hydraulic, top head, mud rotary drilling rigs as well as the use of submersible pump and motor combinations to provide a reliable means for extracting needed water from the ground. The use of HDPE “Fasline” proved a successful method for fluid movement between jobsites and was incorporated into the growing rental fleet of pumps and generators.

Since the late 1970’s J&S has expanded its knowledge and horizons in water well drilling by employing best practices and techniques in the industry. The well drilling fleet has grown to include a Taylor HRT 4000, all hydraulic deep well drilling rig. The scope of work has grown to include wells up to 3500 feet in depth and 24 inches in diameter, with the capability of constructing wells with capacities of 5000 gallons per minute or more, in some instances.

Throughout the past sixty plus years and thousands of water wells, J&S has become an industry leader in the construction of all types of water wells.
